Spring is here, and that means more people are out and about enjoying the sunshine, warmer weather and all the sights to see throughout the suburbs and neighborhoods of Chicago like yard signs celebrating special occasions.
Our delivery drivers install birthday yard signs 365 days a year, but they are busier during spring and summer when customers are especially focused on spreading good cheer outside.
Last week we delivered a deluxe package with a giant cake and smileys to Westchester and our most popular deluxe package with the big cake and candles to Mt. Greenwood in Chicago. A mom who lives out of state called us to be sure her son in Westchester had a special surprise when he arrived at work on Cermak Road. A woman was excited to share a special message with her sister in Mt. Greenwood who was celebrating a big milestone birthday, but we followed her instructions not to include age on the sign (because not everyone wants to reveal that)!
We also brought our entire flock of about 50 flamingos to Aurora for Jessica's mom and set up a massive display in Downers Grove complete with two giant cakes surrounded by our yellow and white star signs for a special boy turning 12 ordered by one of our favorite repeat customers.
Later in the week we installed a deluxe package with the big cake and flames for our customer's bestie in Lake Villa and another with cake and candles for a dad turning 65 in Wheeling. We set up our cake and smileys in Glenwood for a woman from out of state who wanted to give her daughter a nice surprise from the entire family. We woke up from a wonderful voicemail message from this customer saying: "You made someone very happy today. She really loved it. Thank you again."
We brought our school of fish and stars to brighten up the day of a mom coming home from the hospital in Crestwood, a collection of smiles from husband to wife to celebrate their 50th anniversary in Broadview, our funny stop signs to celebrate a son turning 21 in Hanover Park and our cute penguins ordered by a sister for her brother in Wheaton. We made sure to give a grandma in Woodridge an extra special birthday with our cake and candles and hearts.
We rounded out our weekend by filling a yard in Naperville with a double set of 40 flamingos for our customer's daughter and went up to Union to bring a double set of 40 smileys to Peggy's brother, Bob. Our cows grazed on the pastures of Mokena alongside our message board reminding Emily, "Don't have a cow" as she turned 25.
Every customer who orders gets a picture of the display texted to their phone right after we finish setting up, usually around 2 am to ensure the surprise of course!
Enjoy our pictures from this week, and we look forward to helping you pick out the perfect display for your family and friends.
